Rumormill: 2018 Jeep Wrangler Moab Edition starts at $52,695
Jeep isn’t wasting any time cranking out special editions of the new Wrangler. The JL Wrangler forums revealed that the latest Moab edition may already be in production and soon heading to a showroom near you.
According to the forums, all JL Moabs will be based on the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and come solely with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and eight-speed auto. The Moab package essentially bundles many of the options that are available on the Sahara along with the requisite Moab badging and graphics.
Checking the box for the special edition automatically nets the Selec-Trac 4WD system, limited-slip rear differential, Alpine premium audio system, LED lighting, leather interior, Uconnect 8.4-inch display with navigation and the safety group (blind spot monitoring and rear park assist).
The MOAB edition will be the first special edition in the JL Wrangler line.
The Moab Jeep will also get a steel front bumper and rock rails, black front and rear tow hooks, 255/75/17 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM2s, body color three-piece hardtop and grille, and the dual-vented hood from the Rubicon.
Color choices include granite crystal, mojito! (do you need to be 21 to order this?), bright white, firecracker red, ocean blue, sting-gray, black, billet silver and punk’n.
The package will add $10,905 to the price of a Sahara Unlimited for a grand total of $52,695, an eye-watering figure for a Jeep. The good news is, you don’t need to drop $50Gs to have fun in a Jeep. There’s a JL Wrangler for just about every purse and purpose — from the spunky two-door Sport all the way to the rock-crunching Rubicon.
Whichever one you choose, don’t be afraid to get it dirty. These machines are too much fun to be confined to concrete.
